The month of May is all about grilling, swimming, Memorial Day and ... National Hamburger Month. As the weather warms up, May is the perfect backdrop for summertime activities and the food that accompanies them.
May 28 is National Hamburger Day and to celebrate, USA Today compiled a list of the biggest hamburgers across the nation. As everyone knows, when it comes to burgers, bigger is better.
Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub in Pennsylvania serves up a Beer Barrel Belly Buster, a 15-pound burger topped with cheese, tomatoes, onions, sweet relish, banana peppers, mayo, ketchup, mustard and lettuce.
Chicago residents can enjoy an eight-pound Monster Burger at Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap that serves up to eight people.
Wing Zone, an Atlanta-based Buffalo wing and burger chain, is serving up the Widowmaker, a one-pound burger consisting of four patties topped with bacon and cheese.
The Mojo Burger weighs just under a pound but is piled high with cherry-smoking BBQ pulled pork, coleslaw, baked beans, cheddar cheese and pickles, and is covered in BBQ Ranch Sauce. You can find the behemoth of a burger at Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant in Franklin, Tennessee near Nashville.
