FOX 31 (WFXL-TV): Albany Restaurant Owner Donates Over 1,000 Meals to Community Members in Need

Albany’s Eggs Up Grill franchisee, Micheal McNeal, is giving back to the community through boxed meals for hospitals and people in need.

After receiving donations from local organizations and anonymous customers, Michael McNeal, owner of Eggs Up Grill in Albany, is partnering with the Salvation Army to donate a total of 841 breakfast meals in 21 days to families in the community.

In a recent interview with FOX 31, McNeal discussed how the donations were made possible as a result of loyal customers and ongoing support from the brand. Eggs Up Grill has also donated more than 1,700 boxed meals to support hospital workers and first responders at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and Dougherty County EMS.

Eggs Up Grill franchises across the country are actively finding ways to give back to the communities they call home. Before reopening for dine-in on May 11th, McNeal ensured that all restaurant workers were given an opportunity to stay employed through serving community members in Albany’s illustrated time of need. Now, the brand will continue to practice social distancing and clean any “touch points” before and after each customer.

"We've been blessed enough that we've had a lot of churches come together and donate money to us to purchase meals to be able to feed different people," McNeal told FOX 31.
