KFC Introduces a Saucy New Menu Item Just In Time for Football Season

New battered and fried Kentucky Fried Wings are just what the colonel ordered.

It’s football season and we all know what that means; snacks on snacks on snacks. For most people, the best part of Sunday night football is the food that comes with it. Sliders, chips and dip, pigs-in-a-blanket and now KFC fried and sauce-up chicken wings.

According to Nation’s Restaurant News (NRN), starting tomorrow (October 10), KFC will be launching its new battered, fried and sauced-up chicken wings as a part of the chain’s permanent menu at participating restaurants. The new chicken wings will be available in four varieties: “classic” or unsauced (but, why!), Nashville Hot, Buffalo or Honey Barbecue, starting at $5 for six wings, $9.99 for 12, $18.99 for 24 and $36.99 for 48, according to NRN.

“You would be hard pressed to find hot and fresh wings without the wait anywhere else,” said Andrea Zahumensky, Chief Marketing Officer for KFC U.S., in a statement to NRN. “Whether you are Team Nashville Hot or Team Honey Barbecue, our Kentucky Fried Wings are available on demand, revolutionizing your gameday dining experience.”

To promote the new wings, KFC is offering free delivery on orders of $12 or more for customers who order through kfc.com, grubhub.com, or Grubhub’s New York City brand, seamless.com. The offer is available through November 24.

To further promote the new wings, KFC will also be launched a new TV ad on October 13, featuring Sean Austin as “Colonel Rudy,” who trots the new wings onto the football field and is raised on players’ shoulders in celebration.

I don’t know about you guys, but all of a sudden this writer is really craving some chicken wings (dipped in ranch, of course).
