Lessons From Franchise Executives: Justin Gordon of Amramp

Gordon has worked in basically every position in his family-owned company and helped grow the franchise system to feature over 50 locations.

Justin Gordon is the CEO of Amramp, a franchise dedicated to providing modular wheelchair ramps, stairlifts, vertical platform lifts and other accessibility solutions. Founded in 1998 by Gordon’s father, Amramp has grown to 50 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, thanks in large part to the franchising expertise of Gordon.

When it comes to the advice he would give his younger self prior to entering the franchising world, Gordon says it is all about making meaningful connections.

“I would tell myself to take the time to listen to everybody in your organization, especially the people that have been around a long time,” Gordon said. “Find out why they joined the organization to begin with. That is the number one driving force in franchising — people are making a choice to represent your brand. The early adopters were the ones who were passionate about the concept from the very beginning, and if they are still around today, you want to find out what makes them tick and make sure that idea is uniform across the organization.”
