MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes*, a fast-casual chain will open its doors this month to bring a “better burger” to the Old Tappan community. The new restaurant is located in the Bi-State Plaza at 216 Old Tappan Road.

MOOYAH is being introduced to the community by experienced franchisee Keith Kaminskas, who also owns a Dunkin’ Donuts and a Rita’s Italian Ice. Keith began his career in the industry with Dunkin’ Donuts at just fourteen, where he met Tommy Mascia, a Dunkin’ franchisee. Later, they would go on to partner and open their Rita’s Italian Ice location. Mascia eventually became a development agent for MOOYAH and introduced Keith to the brand. Kaminskas saw a strong concept in MOOYAH and decided to open his own location.

“If you serve good food in a clean environment, you can’t go wrong. Guest satisfaction is extremely important and a commitment to service is a paramount aspect of the MOOYAH culture,” said Kaminskas. “Old Tappan is a tight-knit community that appreciates the power of family and that’s why MOOYAH will fit in perfectly here.”

The Old Tappan location is the second MOOYAH in New Jersey. The third location is scheduled to open in Skillman in October, and another opening is planned for later this year in Somerset.

“New Jersey is a perfect place for MOOYAH to thrive,” said Tommy Mascia, development agent at MOOYAH. “Our family-friendly atmosphere and fresh quality product lends itself to communities like Old Tappan and we’re excited to continue to expand throughout the state.”

This will be Kaminskas’ first MOOYAH location, but he hopes to continue to build the brand in New Jersey with more locations in the near future.

“MOOYAH is excited to serve the Old Tappan community our better burgers,” said Michael Mabry, chief operating officer of MOOYAH. “We have always been focused on families, relationships and great food and bringing that to a new community like Old Tappan is part of our vision.”

At MOOYAH, Guests have the advantage of choosing from a variety of bun options, such as baked in-house artisan white or multigrain wheat buns and hand-crafted lettuce buns to accompany the never-frozen 100 percent American beef patty, all-natural Jennie-O turkey patty or the mouthwatering black bean veggie patty. Each gourmet burger can be customized with five types of cheese, applewood smoked bacon, sliced avocado, along with nine free veggie toppings and 11 free sauces.

MOOYAH French fries come together in a six-step process that takes a total of 24 hours to completely prepare. A delightful combination of constant attention and a little magic help transform U.S. #1 Idaho potatoes into perfect, crisp-on-the-outside and fluffy-on-the-inside fries. Guests also have the choice of savory sweet potato fries. Never one to forget dessert, MOOYAH offers real ice cream shakes, allowing Guests to choose from 10 flavors ranging from vanilla to Hershey’s chocolate to Reese’s to strawberry banana and more.

In 2015, MOOYAH is on pace to open 30 new locations and reach the milestone of 100 before the close of the year. The booming better burger brand is set to enter several new states in 2015, with the first MOOYAH restaurants in Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, and Florida scheduled to open this year. Additionally, the brand will increase their established presence in states including California, Texas, Illinois, and Louisiana, with five more scheduled openings in New Jersey alone. The brand continues to spread the unique MOOYAH experience beyond domestic borders too. MOOYAH will open their first restaurant in Qatar in 2015, marking the 7th country MOOYAH has entered outside the U.S.
