Office Evolution CEO Shares Advice for Small Operators with All Work

Mark Hemmeter, founder and CEO of Office Evolution, shines a light on exit strategies for small operators and virtual offices.

In the increasingly popular office sharing space, there’s a new trend taking shape: smaller co-working companies are converting to become franchises. That’s exactly the case for Phoenix-based My Office — the company announced that it’s converting its four locations into Office Evolution franchises.

To share more about this trend and highlight the advantages that Office Evolution has to offer, founder and CEO Mark Hemmeter sat down for an interview with All Work. He noted that the type of conversion that took place with My Office is something that the growing franchise will be focusing on down the line. Hemmeter, told the publication, “Conversions are a big part of what we will be doing in the future. There are a lot of independent operators having a hard time competing against the bigger systems being built; they are looking (or should be looking) for some sort of exit. One possible exit is to convert instead of to sell — this is a particularly attractive exit to operators that love the business and want to stay involved.”

Another main focal point for Office Evolution moving forward will be the importance of virtual offices. Hemmeter continued, “Virtual offices allow us, and our franchisees, to survive. A lot of our members work from home and they just come to the space when they have meetings. Offering virtual offices allows us to cater to more people.”
