PrimeWave’s First Franchise Location Set to Debut in Philadelphia

Russell Klineyoung, a 35-year hospitality veteran, says opening his own PrimeWave location will allow him to continue doing what he loves most: helping people.

It’s never too late to start something new. Just ask Russell Klineyoung, a 35-year veteran employee of some of the most successful hospitality franchise brands in history, including Hilton, TGI Fridays, Applebees and Red Robin.

But when the time came for Klineyoung to open his own franchise, he decided to step away from the hospitality industry. Instead, he was ready to set his sights on a new horizon.

This summer, Klineyoung will open the very first franchise location of PrimeWave, an Arizona-based clinic that provides long-lasting, painless treatment for erectile dysfunction without drugs or surgery.

Why the switch in the industry? “I had great success working for franchises for decades,” said Klineyoung. “After 35 years, I was accomplished and had grown through the ranks at these companies to build an impressive career. However, over the years I had watched the industry change and, as the landscape continued to become more and more competitive, I felt as though the focus on quality had begun to shift. After being in the industry for so long, I wasn’t willing to compromise my standards.”

After retiring, Klineyoung set his sights on business ownership and was naturally drawn to franchising as his next venture. His nearly 40 years spent in the restaurant franchise industry had shown him firsthand that the business model worked and that he was good at running them.

“I like franchises because they are always very structured. I’m not the type of person who creates something new. Instead, I'm the guy you put in place to keep a business standardized and consistent from year one to year twenty,” said Klineyoung.

When he looked at what PrimeWave did for its clients, Klineyoung was sold. It wasn’t hospitality, but it provided the satisfaction he got from helping people.

“Yes, this is a solid business venture, but that’s just part of it,” he said. “I’m a people pleaser, and I have a lot of empathy for people. I think that’s why I was so successful in the hospitality industry. When I learned about the ways PrimeWave’s ED treatments make such a profound difference in the lives of men, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of.”

“We are proud to have someone as successful in franchise operations as Russell to join our team as PrimeWave’s first franchisee,” said Darrin Blume, PrimeWave’s CEO. “He understands the business of what we do but, more importantly, he understands that at the end of the day, this is a business that helps people regain confidence and happiness in their lives.”

An avid outdoorsman and father of three, 56-year-old Klineyoung keeps in shape understands the importance of keeping fit for men his age, and that includes addressing any sexual health concerns.

“I strongly believe in the importance of overall wellness and that’s why I wanted to enter into this industry specifically. With Acoustic Wave Therapy, we are able to get men off of medication and away from other uncomfortable treatments and surgery,” he said. “It’s finally becoming more widely acceptable to talk about and seek treatment for ED and, as this trend continues, this market will only continue to grow.”

In addition to expanding his territory with additional PrimeWave locations in the Philadelphia area, Klineyoung also has his sights set on opening clinics in Miami and Boca Raton, Florida.

Klineyoung knows that opening a business is a lot of hard work, but he has been nothing but impressed with the support he has received from the corporate team. “Whenever something has come up, or we got a curveball we didn’t expect, PrimeWave corporate has answered the call,” he said. “That’s the reason I like working with this team so much. They have been great communicators throughout the entire process.”

The initial investment to open a PrimeWave franchise ranges from $209,750 to $453,101, including a $50,000 franchise fee. The brand is actively seeking franchise owners in Atlanta, Denver and Texas. For more information on franchising with PrimeWave, please visit https://primewave.org/.
