Professional Mover Sets Sights On 2016 Olympics

Eric Williams recognizes the value of hard work.

The 24-year-old resident of Satellite Beach, Florida, is the co-owner of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK*® in Delray Beach. However, his success as a business owner hasn’t stopped him from pursuing another dream.

After swimming well under the relay qualifying standard at the recent Florida Gold Coast Senior Championship,Williams is inching closer to representing the U.S. in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

“Friends and family were very shocked I made the cut, which was cool,” Williams said. “I had kept my training a secret so they didn’t know.”

After graduating from Florida Atlantic University in 2014, Williams decided to go into business with his father, David. At work, he does a little of everything to provide the best customer service possible. Williams shares his time between the office, and from the truck as a driver and a mover. But even then, swimming is always on his mind.

“Work is very supportive of me and worked with me to give me days off so I can train,” Williams said. “I swim in the morning, then work,” Williams said of his routine. “Then after work I lift at the gym every day.”

Williams will continue edging closer to his Olympic ambitions when he participates in the next round of time trials in 2016 in Omaha, Nebraska.
