The Nashville-based company&#39;s home staging often includes real people who move into the houses until they&#39;re sold.&nbsp;

Mike and Janine Callahan, who own <a href="http://showhomes.1851franchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=crains-chicago-business-showhomes-goes-beyond-traditional-staging-with-home-manager-program-10918" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Showhomes</a> of Fox Valley &amp; Naperville and are also Home Managers themselves, have lived in 11 different homes since 2010. Currently, the couple is living in a 7,500-square-foot five-bedroom home in St. Charles. Gary Kahn, a Home Manager on the North Shore of Chicago, is currently living in the recently restored Oscar Mayer mansion in Evanston, a home that has been staged by another Showhomes franchisee, Barbara Bliss.

&quot;It&#39;s a chance to live large for less,&quot; Bliss told Crain&#39;s.&nbsp;

Many Home Managers are relocated executives, empty nesters or people who are in some sort of life transition, but other times, people simply enjoy living in exciting new areas and homes. The program is beneficial to the seller as well, providing peace of mind if they&#39;re no longer able to live in their home while it&#39;s on the market.&nbsp;Showhomes&#39; Home Manager program really helps people get excited about a space.&nbsp;

&quot;When buyers walk into the kitchen, open the cabinets and see all our things in there, it feels like a home they will live in,&quot; Janine Callahan said to Crain&#39;s. &quot;Not like a place that&#39;s artificially staged.&quot;
