Strategic Franchising Ends 2022 with 110 New Territories Awarded and Double-Digit Same Store Sales Increases

The company successfully added new leadership talent to all five brands to continue building upon its exceptional franchise owner support infrastructure.

Strategic Franchising Systems, the premier franchise development company that offers aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to start a low-cost business in some of the hottest industries, closed out 2022 with a total of 110 new territories awarded across its portfolio. While offering franchises throughout the U.S., the company was excited to enter three new markets for the first time, including Utah, Tennessee and Idaho.

“While it has been a very good year overall, it has also been somewhat of a roller coaster ride,” said Strategic Franchising Systems President Chris Seman. “Coming out of COVID, we’ve had some economic headwinds in 2022 as well as inflationary concerns. While a potential recession has even been debated, the employment numbers have been unusually strong. In fact, during economic turbulence, people are usually forced out of their comfort zones to look for new career and business opportunities, especially franchises. That’s really not happening yet. People seem to be sitting tight where they are and waiting. So in spite of all these trends and challenges, we’ve still awarded 110 new franchise territories this year and are very proud of that success.”

The multi-brand company, successfully operating for over 20 years, currently offers five franchise opportunities throughout the U.S.: nationally recognized painting franchise Fresh Coat; senior home-relocation and estate-liquidation concept Caring Transitions; small business and sales coaching concept The Growth Coach; fast-growing natural pet food and grooming brand Pet Wants; and the only national provider of total house care, inside and out, for seniors and busy families, TruBlue.

How do you sell 110 territories during tough times?  “We are selling franchises that have services and products that are in strong demand, in both good times and bad,” Seman said. “Even with inflation, our brands are uniquely positioned to continue to grow as people will always take good care of their homes, aging parents, pets, and small businesses no matter the economy. Our commercial division of Fresh Coat, for example, saw tremendous growth this year as people in that segment started to fully realize our value proposition and national reach. Caring Transitions has seen massive demand and growth with its online auction division. I’m proud that our companies are recession-resistant, and as such, we can help prospective business owners fulfill their dreams and lifestyle goals no matter what the economy is doing.”

Every Strategic Franchising brand is home-based to start, which allows owners to keep operating costs significantly lower than those of the competitors. Additionally, all new franchisees are trained and coached to become “strategic business owners,” properly knowing how to grow a sizable business while also enjoying the process and maintaining personal balance. And finally, all new franchisees have access to trade secrets and best practices; professional business coaching from The Growth Coach; and proven systems to successfully market and operate their business as well as recruit the right talent. That’s why no previous industry or business-ownership experience is necessary. New owners are taught everything they will need to run a business. And finally, Strategic believes in providing franchise owners with a flexible business “on their terms” to satisfy any and all income and lifestyle goals.

The company expects to award 170 new territories in 2023 to new and existing owners seeking greater control, freedom, fulfillment and financial success in their professional lives. To achieve that, SFS has been busy adding talent to its leadership ranks to support even more owners.

The company welcomed DeNita Carani as the new brand president of Pet Wants, as well as Paul Kamm as the V.P. of Operations and Emily Roberts as V.P. of Marketing. TruBlue Total House Care welcomed Robynn Berry as V.P. of Growth and Innovation and Carrie Coumbs as a Senior Strategic Adviser. Fresh Coat Painters welcomed  Leo Haley as V.P. of Franchise Sales and Wayne Scherger as Chief Operating Officer. And Growth Coach welcomed Brad Schneider as Chief Coaching Officer, and Caring Transitions did so with Lisa Asbury, as Senior Director of Technology.

New owners can reap the rewards of a uniquely robust, multi-brand franchise system where they can confidently refer business to each other, attend national conferences with all five brands participating, and benefit from national account opportunities. They can also qualify for the company’s innovative Winner's Circle Program, where they can earn back their entire franchise fee as they achieve certain milestones over time, a powerful one-of-a-kind program not seen in any other franchise system.
