Erin Bailey, a physical therapist of more than a decade, has found a way to put her passion for helping others to use with FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Centers — the fastest-growing physical therapy franchise in the U.S.

“I got into franchising about four or five years ago, but I started working in the physical therapy industry about 11 years ago,” Bailey said. “I later grew into leadership as the company became an early franchisee. In about 2017, those locations were acquired, becoming the first company-operated facilities. Today, I oversee 30 company-run locations inside of a franchise system that has 432 locations.”

Now vice president of FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Centers overseeing the company’s southeastern division, Bailey sees a lot in common between the physical therapy and franchising industries.

“The two biggest shared traits are definitely good communication and attention to detail,” she said. “You have to know how to communicate with people, and you need to be able to read people, no matter what business you're in. People need to know that you're there to help them, and having an open communication policy is the first step to achieving that. And then a close second is just being detail-oriented and knowing the fine details of your business, which helps you stay two steps ahead.”

She has some advice for anyone considering getting into franchising: Find a mentor! Bailey said it’s so important to soak everything up and learn all that you can to fully comprehend every level of the franchising industry.

“There’s so much to love about the franchising industry,” Bailey said. “I love that we get to mentor employees and see them grow into leaders. When you love what you do, the days just fly by.”
