Anchored Tiny Homes Co-Founder and CEO Shares ‘7 Ways To Win in 2024’

In this episode of The Visionaries Table podcast, Colton Paulhus offers advice on achieving success this year and beyond.

On a recent episode of his podcast, "The Visionaries Table," Anchored Tiny Homes CEO and Co-Founder Colton Paulhus shared some of the secrets to his success. Here are Paulhus' "7 Ways to Win in 2024."

1. Get Serious

Paulhus’ first piece of advice is to take pride in what you do and commit to achieving your dreams. Recognize the importance of actively pursuing your goals and understand that significant accomplishments require serious effort and dedication.

“Just say, ‘Hey, you know what? My life matters, this area of my life matters, and it's time that I take control of it and I really engage in consistent action to move my life forward.”

2. Get Smart

The second tip offered by Paulhus is to continuously seek knowledge and personal development. Read books, take courses and study materials relevant to your field or interests. Identify your strengths and invest in refining your skills in those areas.

"Be a student of personal development. Don't wish it was easier. Wish you were better.”

3. Get Going

Paulhus recommends taking action swiftly and decisively. Understand that failure is a natural part of the process, and persistence is key to achieving success.

"Successful people take action and they take a lot of action. They move with speed, they move with tenacity, and they move with hunger and desire. They don't overthink things.”

4. Get Better

Next up is embracing personal responsibility for your growth and development. Recognize that meaningful change in your life requires you to change. Continuously strive to improve and refine yourself, taking ownership of your circumstances and actions.

“For things to change in your life, you have to change. I think too many people put the blame on other people. They blame other people for the problems. They gossip about where they're at in their life.”

5. Get Stronger

According to Paulhus, facing challenges head-on helps develop resilience and character. Keep the promises you make to yourself and build self-confidence through consistent action and integrity, and understand that adversity can be a catalyst for personal growth.

“Character is doing what you say you're going to do and keeping the promises that you said to others and to yourself, and that's actually where self-confidence comes from. So if you have self-confidence in your life most of the time, it's because you've kept the promises you made to yourself.”

6. Get Excited

It’s also important to have passion and enthusiasm for your endeavors. Find what drives you and ignites your ambition. Maintain a positive mindset and focus on the possibilities rather than dwelling on setbacks.

“If you're not excited about what you're doing, I can promise you, you're never gonna make it. You're never gonna keep fighting through. You're never gonna get to keep that job if you're not excited about it.”

7. Get Away

Finally, take regular breaks to recharge and gain perspective. Step back from the daily grind to reflect, plan and rejuvenate. Whether through exercise, reading, travel or other activities, prioritize self-care and mental clarity.

“Step outside of the day-to-day activity. Really get free in your thought process so you can bring a fresh perspective to your company and into your business.”

While there are no shortcuts to success, Paulhus does insist that these strategies will set you on the right path for success in 2024. “You have to put in the action, put in the consistent activity and be someone that you were created to be,” he said, “but it starts with these seven things.”
