According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index’s (ACSI) annual restaurant report, QSR franchise Chick-fil-A has the highest customer satisfaction rating compared with over 400 other national chains. The chicken brand received a customer satisfaction score of 84 out of 100.

The No. 2-ranking chain was Chipotle, with a score of 80. Rival chicken chains KFC and Popeyes earned scores of 79 and 74, respectively.

"Little things like being told 'please' and 'thank you’ — it feels like you're appreciated as a customer and a human being at Chick-fil-A," Mark Kalinowski, Kalinowski Equity Research founder, told Business Insider last year.

Though the gap between first and second place has narrowed slightly since 2019, Chick-fil-A has topped the ACSI survey for eight consecutive years.

Regarding profitability, Chick-fil-A’s locations significantly outperform their competitors. A single Chick-fil-A location averages roughly $4.5 million in sales annually. For comparison, the average McDonald's location makes approximately $2.9 million.
