Edible, the modern e-commerce gifting brand supported by nearly 1,000 locally owned retail locations globally, has appointed Mark Mele as Chief Development Officer. Mele brings almost 40 years of franchise development expertise, notably from his previous role at Paris Baguette*, to spearheading growth for Edible's new Next-Gen store concept.

As Edible undergoes a brand revitalization to attract the next generation of gift-givers, Mele aims to optimize franchise operations and boost individual franchisees. His extensive knowledge will shape Edible's immersive in-person retail experience, targeting expansion across 350 U.S. territories.

Mele's role involves overseeing franchise sales, real estate, construction and design initiatives at Edible. His focus extends beyond franchise development to enhancing operational efficiency and offering personalized support to franchisees.

Prior to joining Edible, Mele was the Chief Development Officer for Paris Baguette, a global bakery café concept with over 4,000 units worldwide, where he managed franchise sales, real estate and construction and successfully rolled out a new café prototype systemwide. His expertise has garnered recognition in various business and franchising media outlets such as ForbesModern Retail and Franchise Times.

In his new role, Mele will play a pivotal part in Edible's brand relaunch, supporting the rollout of the Next-Gen retail concept to cater to evolving consumer preferences and strengthen the brand's position in the market.
