Franchise Opportunity Deep Dive: 9Round is a high-energy, small-footprint kickboxing fitness concept with global reach.

9Round is a 30-minute, station-based fitness concept that blends elements of kickboxing, strength training and cardio in a fast-paced, trainer-led setting. Designed for accessibility, each 9Round studio uses a compact footprint, streamlined operations and technology-assisted workouts to create an efficient, high-impact experience for members. The brand has built a loyal following by focusing on community, convenience and results, while offering franchise owners a low-overhead business model in the thriving fitness market.
9Round was founded in 2008 in Greenville, South Carolina, by Shannon “The Cannon” and Heather “The Hero” Hudson. Shannon, an IKF Light Middleweight Kickboxing World Champion, combined his passion for martial arts with a vision to make fitness approachable and time-efficient. Heather, a black belt in Shotokan Karate, brought her expertise in communication, marketing and scalable systems to the concept. Together, they opened the first location with the goal of helping people become physically and mentally stronger in just 30 minutes. By 2012, the brand had grown to 100 locations and today operates hundreds of studios across the globe.
Mission: To change lives by making members stronger physically and mentally through efficient, effective and empowering workouts in a supportive environment.
Vision: To be the leading global kickboxing fitness brand, helping communities worldwide achieve their fitness goals while fostering confidence, resilience and a passion for healthy living.
9Round delivers a complete workout in just 30 minutes, eliminating the need for class times and allowing members to start whenever they arrive. The workout is built around nine stations, each combining kickboxing and strength exercises, with trainer-guided technology providing real-time instruction and motivation. Studios operate with compact square footage, creating an intimate atmosphere while keeping overhead low.
Franchisees benefit from a turnkey business model with low entry costs, predictable flat royalties, and streamlined build-outs requiring only 1,500 to 2,500 square feet. The owner-operator model keeps labor costs down, while multiple revenue streams — including memberships, personal training, workshops and branded retail — help strengthen profitability. Comprehensive marketing, training and operational support are provided from day one, with ongoing coaching to help owners succeed long-term.
9Round continues to expand in select United States and international markets, with opportunities available in the locations below.

The video below features owner testimonials from several franchisees, including the Vettels who are multi-unit franchise owners in Kansas and Nebraska.
