Tropical Smoothie provides comprehensive training to its franchisees through a structured program designed to ensure successful operations. The training is divided into three key components: an initial training program (mandatory for designated principal or key operator) lasting 7.5 hours across five sessions, in-cafe training lasting three to four weeks at a franchise location of the franchisor’s choosing and additional training as deemed necessary by franchisor.
Tropical Smoothie offers comprehensive operational support to its franchisees, ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance to run successful centers. This support includes access to the confidential operations manual as well as a proven system. The franchisor also provides feedback regarding site selection and will review/approve the site as well as lease/sublease and will grant access to a list of approved suppliers. The franchisor will provide mandatory and suggested specifications and layouts. Five days of opening assistance are also provided.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe gives franchisees a solid tech stack to run and grow their cafes. The brand supports owners with a mobile app and Tropic Rewards loyalty program that drive digital ordering, guest data and targeted marketing, plus enhanced online ordering and curbside capabilities for convenience. It also provides online tools that let franchisees remotely monitor key metrics like food costs, labor and customer relations so they can keep an eye on performance in real time.
Franchisees should have business experience. Restaurant experience is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate is someone who understands the brand culture and franchise model and is ready to follow an established system and lead a team in a guest-focused environment.
The business must stay open and operating during the specific hours and days set by the franchisor, and while the designated principal is encouraged to be actively involved, they are not required to personally run the day-to-day operations or be on-site supervising the restaurant.
