For more than 35 years, FranNet’s experienced local franchise consultants and brokers have matched entrepreneurs with the perfect business opportunities to meet their goals. To accomplish this, the company’s expert consultants undergo sophisticated training and in-depth networking with franchisors to understand the ins and outs of their businesses. As part of that ongoing training, FranNet holds fall and spring conferences each year to connect consultants and franchisors. The 2022 FranNet Fall Conference was held October 1–4 in Louisville, Kentucky.

“This year’s Fall Conference was immensely productive,” said FranNet Vice President of Marketing Will Fraker. “Our consultants met with representatives from the franchisors in our curated directory and mingled. This allows the FranNet team to better understand what these companies currently offer, what territories are available and more.”

The Fall Conference featured several guest speakers, including Art Coley, CEO of CGI Franchise. Coley spoke about the state of franchising and the specific traits that franchisors are looking for in franchisee candidates.

“Coley’s presentation was game-changing,” said Fraker. “He gave expert advice on connecting entrepreneurs with the best-fitting franchisor. It was really insightful.”

This year, FranNet added an additional day to the conference for a consultant “boot camp,” in which the FranNet team was given opportunities to learn, train and grow. This day-long session was hyper-focused on the role of the consultant and improving marketing tactics, particularly through technology and online platforms.

“At the boot camp, we had Tell Studios’ Ryan Koral speak to us about video and cinematography,” said Fraker. “His presentation was brilliant, offering instruction on video marketing and other techniques for us to be more effective through social channels.”

FranNet’s expert consultants know that when an entrepreneur approaches them in search of a suitable franchise, that decision isn’t made lightly. Becoming a franchisee is a major commitment that requires extensive due diligence beforehand. The FranNet team understands this and aims to know the intricate details of a franchisor’s operations before making an introduction.

“The relationship building between consultants and franchisors in a conference setting is crucial,” said Fraker. “Franchisees are making one of the biggest decisions of their life when they invest in a franchise, and they are counting on us to set up a great match. That’s why it is so important for consultants to truly know the franchisors they are matching entrepreneurs with.”
