Sub sandwich franchise Lenny’s Sub Shop plans to award $1,000 to a Facebook fan and their nominated teacher in a contest celebrating “World Teacher Day” on October 5, 2012. Former students will have the opportunity to submit a video to Lenny’s Facebook fan page nominating their favorite teacher with a personal story now through October 10. Fans will then vote on the nominees until a winner is announced October 12. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place winners with the grand prize-winning teacher and nominating student but winning $1,000. “Lenny’s is giving our fans this creative outlet to honor our nation’s school teachers, and will illustrate the positive impact school teachers make on their students every day,” said George Alvord, Chairman and CEO of Lenny’s Sub Shop.
