Fox Business: Melting Pot CEO Joins ‘Coast to Coast’
Melting Pot CEO Bob Johnston discusses the fondue franchise's continued expansion despite cautious consumer spending and rising prices.

As holiday retail shopping picks up, Melting Pot CEO, Bob Johnston joined “Cavuto: Coast to Coast” to discuss how the fondue franchise has continued to expand amid more cautious consumer spending.
“It has been an interesting time for our industry, but I’ll tell you what we are doing at Melting Pot — we are growing,” said Johnston. “We are opening more franchises, with eight in development right now and more expected in 2025.”
With prices going up across the board, Johnston says it will be a complex environment for all restaurants moving forward. “We have people on the team to pay attention to what we are spending on our beloved products for our guests,” he said. “We fight hard everyday to secure the highest quality products for all of our franchisees. We’ve always done that and it won’t change.”
When it comes to growth, Johnston says the key to Melting Pot’s success is this strategic partnership with franchisees. “Most of our locations are owned and operated by people from the local community,” he said. “We support them to have the best measure of success that they can. Franchising is a great business model — it has allowed us to have nearly 100 locations across the country. But there are many we haven’t reached yet, so we have an opportunity for more growth.”
