Karl Morningstar, a franchise broker with The You Network, got his start in franchising more than 30 years ago, training, supporting and developing Howard Johnson franchise locations and later becoming the owner of a master franchise territory. Now, when he speaks with new or potential franchise owners, he feels the same exhilaration he felt back then.

Morningstar’s secret weapon? Helping clients understand who they are and what they bring to the table. “Often, we’re very bad judges of our strengths and weaknesses,” he said. “That’s why it’s great to have someone from the outside who doesn’t know you make that evaluation.”

And speaking of strengths, helping clients find the right fit is Morningstar’s passion. “It’s the cards I get around Christmas time saying, ‘Thank you, Karl, for what you’ve done for me and my family,’” Morningstar said. “That’s really what winning looks like for me.”
