The beloved fast-food chain Wendy’s and the tech powerhouse that is Google may seem like an unlikely pair, but this merge of forces will only improve experiences for customers and employees alike by using the data-driven power of insights.

How will Google’s cloud-based technology make a Wendy’s-loving consumer happier? By improving the ordering and food-receiving process. This will be done by using Google Cloud’s artificial intelligence, machine learning and hybrid cloud tools, which will create new ways for customers to order in the fast-food chain’s drive-thrus or even within their mobile devices.

Every fast-food chain has strived for customer convenience differently over the years, from multiple merging lines to mobile apps to employees coming to the vehicle. No doubt, the evolution of technology within the fast-food paradigm has only made the burger-hungry consumer less frustrated, and this addition of Google Cloud at Wendy’s is a step in the right direction for all fast-food restaurants.

“We are committed to providing our customers with the greatest experience possible, and our partnership with Google Cloud is raising the bar by enabling us to match the experience to their preferences,” Wendy’s Chief Information Officer Kevin Vasconi said in a statement.

Examples of some of the impressive services provided by this partnership include a speech-to-text function, Google Search and Maps to improve and expedite the ordering process. Wendy’s also plans to use Google’s BigQuery and Looker tools to improve business analytics; Cloud artificial intelligence to improve ordering through mobile, web and other restaurant touchpoints; and Google’s Anthos open-source management program.
