For over 40 years, British Swim School has been dedicated to teaching water survival skills to children as young as three months old. Founded in 1981, the company has set itself apart with unique teaching methods that are a recognized trademark of the brand.
In April 2019, multi-brand franchising organization Buzz Franchise Brands became the majority owner of British Swim School. The parent company also owns brands such as Pool Scouts*, Home Clean Heroes* and Grand Illuminations.
Following the mantra “Survival of the Littlest,” British Swim School franchisees are dedicated to teaching water survival skills. British Swim School is headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and is currently operating over 350 locations across North America.

British Swim School offers a variety of classes for children and adults of all ages and skill levels. Beginning at just three months, the schools teach children the essentials of swimming, starting with how to float on their backs and eventually moving on to swimming each of the four strokes. Many classes are based on skill level. Once a child’s skill level exceed that of any of the classes, he or she is welcome to join the brand’s “superstar swim team,” The Barracudas.

The cost of water, pool repairs, daily maintenance, energy and all the other costs associated with owning a commercial pool are covered by the host facility.
