About the Brand
Papa Johns was founded in 1984 by John Schnatter in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The franchising arm, Papa Johns Franchising, LLC, is a Kentucky-based subsidiary of Papa John's International, Inc. (PJI). Franchising for U.S. restaurants has been offered since 1991, and the brand transitioned franchise agreements to its LLC in 2021.
