Development has been a primary focus for Mosquito Joe since the concept began franchising in 2012, aiming to become the top mosquito prevention franchise in the nation. By growing strategically in target growth markets where its unique service was in high demand and sparking further development with its high customer satisfaction, Mosquito Joe now proudly has 234 locations in operation.

Amidst one of its most successful development years in the brand’s five-year history, Mosquito Joe hired new Chief Operating Officer Lou Schager. Lou joins the franchise with more than 26 years of naval experience, overseeing operations, logistics, safety and security for more than 16,000 personnel across three bases as the Commanding Officer of Naval Air Station Oceana.

“I gained great insight through my leadership opportunities while serving in the Navy,” said Schager. “Placing as much emphasis on building relationships as on making informed, strategic decisions led to high-level operational performance. When I was transitioning out of the military, I wanted to find an organization I could connect with on a personal level. Mosquito Joe fits both of those so well for me because our brand helps families enjoy their outdoors while also making entrepreneurial dreams come true for our franchisees.”

Through exposure to the brand as a loyal customer, Schager understood the unique opportunity Mosquito Joe offered to both consumers and franchisees with its unmatched concept. By joining the team, Schager looks to improve the training process for franchisees across the board – whether just joining the team or looking at multi-unit expansion opportunities. This streamlined approach will help maximize Mosquito Joe’s efficiency and quality of services, and expand future growth opportunities

“As a company goes through a normal life cycle from a start up to an established franchisor, leaders like Lou are critical to creating strong organizational systems designed to support rapid growth,” said Mosquito Joe CEO Kevin Wilson. “It’s important for us to continue providing the best support in the industry to coach our existing franchisees toward operational excellence as we continue to expand into new markets nationwide.”

Mosquito Joe has celebrated three strong quarters of development in 2017, with 67 new territory openings so far this year– expanding presence in both new and existing markets nationwide. Now, the brand is focused on development opportunities in Chicago, Denver and in key markets throughout the Northeast and California. With Schager onboard, Mosquito Joe is well-positioned to get these new locations up-and-running quickly.
