The company will double the size of its Canadian network in the next three years; all new 2023 locations to be opened with landlord partners
TORONTO (January 19, 2023): IWG, the world’s largest flexible workspace and office provider, plans to double the size of its Canadian network in the next three years to reach 250 locations. In the first half of 2023, IWG will bring its HQ brand to Canada opening four locations in Edmonton, Ottawa, Gatineau and
Truro, three Regus locations in Cambridge, Calgary and Sherbrooke, and two SPACES coworking locations – a first in Edmonton and the 14th SPACES in Toronto, opening in the Leslieville neighbourhood.
As IWG shifts to a growth strategy focused on managed partnerships, almost all newly announced locations in 2023 will open in the form of landlord partners. The strategy enables partners to capitalize on the rapidly growing hybrid working sector while benefiting from IWG’s unrivalled sector expertise and receiving access to the Group’s digital platform as well as its sales and marketing capabilities.
“As the demand for hybrid working continues to increase, landlords are paying close attention to the flexible workspace sector. They understand the tremendous long-term opportunity as the corporate mindset about office space continues to evolve,” explains Wayne Berger, CEO, IWG Americas. “Entering the new year, the number of partnerships we’ve forged with landlords has been phenomenal — and it’s allowed us to grow much more rapidly. Alongside our network of partners, we plan on more than doubling our footprint in Canada over the next few years.”
After opening nine new flexible workspaces locations in 2022 in Canada – spanning coast to coast from Surrey to Dartmouth – IWG will open the following locations in the first half of 2023:

A 19,800 square foot HQ will open in the suburbs of South Edmonton. Designed for productivity, the new flexible workspace is ideal for everyone from large businesses to freelancers. 9426 – 51st Avenue, Suite #201. Opening May 2023.

Housed in Truro’s The Common Works complex, this 7,500 square foot flexspace is the area’s only coworking facility. It will provide local freelancers, small businesses, and employees of large corporations with a comprehensive workplace solution, complete with all the essentials needed to set up and be ready to work immediately. 1 Commercial St. Opening February 2023.
Landlord Partner: Multivesco
Professionals in Gatineau are looking to flexible workspaces as a solution to the new hybrid work world. HQ will bring 5,000 square feet of private offices, dedicated desks, and meeting rooms to accommodate the city’s growing number of flexible workers. 200 Montcalm Tower 1. Opening March 2023

The new HQ in Ottawa will bring 7,200 square feet of flexible workspace to the city’s popular Centretown neighbourhood, on the top floor of a fully renovated four-storey office building. 396 Coopers St. Opening March 2023

The new 17,266 square foot centre marks the third Regus location in the tri-cities (Kitchener-Cambridge Waterloo) area, and the first for Cambridge. 73 Water Street. Opening February 2023.

Calgary is one of Canada’s hottest markets for flexible workspaces, and the demand for agile alternatives to traditional office space and long-term leases continues to grow in 2023. The new 15,000 square foot location will mark Calgary’s 15th Regus. 6815 8th Street N.E. Opening June 2023.

Regus will bring 10,600 square feet of flexible workspace to the rapidly developing tech hub and residential community of Sherbrooke, QC. The facility will be located in downtown Sherbrooke and is the first Regus to open in the region. 455 King Street West. Opening April 2023.

The first SPACES in Edmonton is coming to the 28-storey Peak Tower (formerly Enbridge Tower) bringing 17,000 square feet of much-needed coworking space to the city’s downtown core. 10054 102 St., Edmonton. Opening July 2023.

SPACES is bringing its 14th location to Toronto — and its first to the creative neighbourhood of Leslieville, in Toronto’s desirable east end. This full floor of 22,077 square foot authentic loft space will be housed on the top floor (5th floor) of the city’s former Wrigley’s Gum factory.
Built in 1915, it is one of only two industrial buildings with soaring 14’ high ceilings and large mushroom columns. It is known for its authentic Chicago/New York concrete mushroom columns in an authentic loft space. The Wrigley Building is ideal for the city’s latest co-working space.
