The Netflix and Coca-Cola co-promotion is exactly what it sounds like.
Never missing a chance to stunt, Burger King unveiled a new promotion for the third season of “Stranger Things” today: The Upside Down Whopper. The homage to the hit Netflix show’s parallel dimension, The Upside Down, is made even more clever by the fact that it’s only going to be sold in 11 cities—a hat-tip to the show’s protagonist, Eleven, notes AdWeek.
Don’t read too much into it. “The Upside Down Whopper sandwich features exclusive packaging and the same ingredients as the original Whopper, served upside down,” said Burger King.
The co-promotion with Coca-Cola—which also includes limited edition tees, pins, BK crowns and ketchup packets—will be available June 21 in Miami, Houston, Boston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York.
