Patrice & Associates is a recruiting franchise that helps thousands of managerial and executive level candidates every year find rewarding jobs in the hospitality industry and beyond. With strong brand recognition, a flexible business model and a growing footprint, Patrice & Associates has established itself as a leading franchise opportunity in the $212 billion staffing industry.

How Many Patrice & Associates Locations Are There?

Patrice & Associates began as a management recruiting firm specializing in the hospitality industry in 1989. Patrice Rice, the founder, was formerly the first female boat captain of the Chesapeake Bay. After deciding to take a new career path and seeing the recruitment and staffing process, Rice saw an opportunity to build a lucrative business in the industry.

In 2010, Rice decided to franchise the Patrice & Associates concept. By 2017, the franchise had reached the 100-unit mark. In the years since, Patrice & Associates has seen steady franchise growth, which has only picked up following the COVID-19 pandemic. The franchise has been awarding around 30 units on average a year and recently expanded into Canada.

Today, with over 175 units in the U.S. and Canada, Patrice & Associates is the largest hospitality executive search firm in the country. In 2023, the franchise came in at No. 289 on Entrepreneur's 2023 Franchise 500 Rank.

Although Patrice & Associates started with a focus on the food and beverage sector, the franchise has expanded into a variety of vertical markets including insurance, finance, retail, banking, health and wellness, oil and gas and more. The franchise has also recently started to offer executive search services.

Leveraging its impressive standing in the industry, Patrice & Associates has negotiated preferred contracts with some of the top brands in the U.S. and Canada, including Panera Bread, Macaroni Grill, Bahama Breeze, Applebees, TGI Fridays, Taco Bell, Arbys, Mr. Mike’s, Great Wolf Lodge, Entertainment Cruises and many more.

What Is the Patrice & Associates Business Model?

There are two business models Patrice & Associates franchisees can invest in.

The Basic Model:

  • Work from home recruiting with the ability to bring on additional recruiters who can work from their homes anywhere in the country.
  • Open an office of recruiters who report to work.
  • The Basic Model requires an upfront investment of $82,000.

 Brick and Mortar:

  • Open an office, work the business for 90 days, then hire recruiters. Recruiters will be able to start placing candidates from day one as they will have access to hundreds of jobs in the database.
  • Activities will consist of managing your recruiting team and ensuring they hit their monthly revenue targets.
  • Client development is a key component of the business as it can lead to higher placement fees, better send-out to hire ratios and even passive income.
  • Franchisees typically start the business as a home-based model and can scale into brick and mortar. However, most franchisees operate their business from home.

Franchisees of Patrice & Associates are allocated a specific region for marketing and business expansion activities. Similar to most companies in the recruiting or headhunting franchise sector, they have the flexibility to place individuals globally. They are also at liberty to cultivate clientele in any market, provided it originates from their network, recommendation or usual business dealings. Every promising lead can be transformed into a client, which effectively broadens the opportunity for client development across the entire U.S. However, it is important to note that franchisees are explicitly forbidden from directly targeting the market of another franchisee.

How Do Patrice & Associates Franchise Owners Make Money?

Patrice & Associates franchisees sign on to open their business in a local area, but have access to a shared nationwide database with over 650,000 candidates and over 1,400 job listings.

For employers, through the systems provided by Patrice & Associates Franchise , the franchisee develops a strategy unique to each client, targeting companies with specific industries and geographic areas when necessary, conducting targeted cold calling to similar companies or concepts to find top level talent and conducting a vigorous, behavior-based interview and reference checking process. Patrice & Associates will source job candidates through several different channels including discrete and confidential cold calling, a social media campaign, blind advertising in nationally recognized publications and its Patrice Way™ industry search to attract qualified candidates.

On the candidate side, Patrice & Associates franchisees can offer everything from resume preparation to free interview coaching, exclusive positions and final negotiations.
