When it comes to cultural commentating, “Saturday Night Live” has it kind of tough.

While the rest of us are able to put our two cents in on any and all topics instantaneously online, the folks at “SNL” have to wait for their time to shine. In the world of modern pop culture, a week might as well be an eternity. By the time The Not Ready for Prime Time Players are able to jump in, whatever joke they have to add to the cultural conversation often feels stale.

With that said, I thought the show’s ribbing of Starbucks’ #RaceTogether campaign this last weekend was well-done. Instead of harping on Starbucks itself – a national pastime on Twitter over the past week – SNL ratcheted up the absurdity of it all by swapping out the franchise and the social issue.

Check out Pep Boys’ new #genderflect campaign above for a heaping helping of genitalia jokes and overly earnest explorations of sexual identity.
