Familiar with a twist gets a little more twisted at <a href="http://checkersfranchising.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=tampa-bay-business-journal-two-new-menu-items-show-checkers-rallys-familiar-with-a-twist-product-development-strategy-1667" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Checkers &amp; Rally's Restaurants, Inc.</a> The fast-food chain has recently announced two new limited-time-only sandwiches at their Tampa Bay location: the Southern Spicy Chicken, and Fish &amp; Chips.According to the Tampa Bay Business Journal, &#8220;The chicken sandwich is topped with &#8216;pickle fries&#8217; &#8212; pickles shaped like French fries coated with Checkers&#8217; fry seasoning; the fish sandwich has fries on top of the filet, inside the bun.&#8221;Checkers CEO Rick Silva and Chief Marketing Officer Terri Snyder discussed the company&#8217;s growth and success during a time where other fast-food giants are struggling. Part of their success comes from their ability to develop within the familiar-with-a-twist paradigm.&#8220;You&#8217;re seeing more chicken and fish in our category,&#8221; Snyder told the Tampa Bay Business Journal. &#8220;Our consumer is eating less beef, and beef is really high in cost compared to chicken and fish.
