Kivo Daily: Common Mistakes New Multi-Brand Franchisees Make

Penn Station president Craig Dunaway shares his insights with the publication.

Craig Dunaway, president of Penn Station East Coast Subs, recently shared his industry insights with the business, entrepreneurship and thought leadership publication Kivo Daily in a piece entitled “Common Mistakes New Multi-Brand Franchisees Make.”

“When a multi-unit franchisee adds or even considers adding a new brand, there may be some unexpected changes and challenges for the franchisee, especially for franchisees with many locations of only one brand who has operated that same brand for a number of years,” writes Dunaway.

The Kivo Daily piece offers valuable advice for new multi-unit franchisees, including:

  • You cannot change a brand to fit your current operations.
  • Don’t put it on the backburner.
  • Don’t enter a new market.
  • Don’t choose a franchise with wildly different operations.
