This year, Sport Clips is proud to once again continue its partnership with Darlington Raceway as the title Sponsor of the VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200 Xfinity Series race with Hamlin at the wheel. He will be driving a retro-designed &#8220;throwback edition&#8221; Sport Clips Toyota on the Darlington Raceway for both the VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200 on September 3rd as No. 20, and for the Bojangles 500 on September 4th as No. 11. Hamlin scored Sport Clips their first Darlington Raceway victory in the XFINITY Series behind the wheel of the No. 20 Sport Clips Retro Camry in 2015. This is the third year that Hamlin will drive in the VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200. For Sport Clips, sponsoring a national sporting event isn&#8217;t just good for the brand name exposure&#8212;it makes good business sense, too. According to AdAge, ads for last year&#8217;s Super Bowl cost an average of $10 million for just 60 seconds of air time. And while nationally-televised commercials are one highly visible way that brands are capitalizing on the ever-growing popularity of sports, franchise companies have other sports-related avenues at their disposal if breaking the bank for a Super Bowl ad is not in the cards. One of the best ways for brands to tap into the sports market is through national sports sponsorships, and for Sport Clips&#8217; founder Gordon Logan, racing and NASCAR partnerships have gone a long way. Joe Gibbs Racing and its drivers have been excellent ambassadors for our brand and our Help a Hero program over the years, and we&#8217;re proud to have worked hard to introduce drivers into our programs to generate more awareness and support for the Help A Hero Scholarship Program that benefits those who have served, says Martha England, the vice president of marketing for Sport Clips. The VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200 is a NASCAR Xfinity Series race that takes place at Darlington Raceway, and it is held the day before the Bojangles Southern 500, the Sprint Cup Series race. Sport Clips began its Darlington Xfinity sponsorship in 2012 in partnership with the VFW, and in 2013, the brand became the sole sponsor.
