Toppers Pizza’s CEO Scott Gittrich Featured on BizTimes Milwaukee
The Wisconsin-based franchise CEO spoke with BizTimes about how technology fueled the brand’s growth.
Scott Gittrich, CEO of Toppers Pizza, a Wisconsin-based takeout and delivery pizza franchise, spoke with BizTimes Milwaukee on how the brand chose to invest in technology systemwide to successfully adapt amid the pandemic. Toppers Pizza saw double-digit sales growth for the past four consecutive quarters and expects that momentum to continue into 2022. The pizza brand invested in both technology and menu additions, such as gluten-free and vegan options, to promote their growth.
“In the past five years, we’ve spent several million dollars to build our own point-of-sale, e-commerce, cloud-data system and completed rolling that out to the entire store footprint in the middle of 2020,” said Gittrich. “We built this thing to scale using incredible architecture and technology. We can pull and change the e-commerce solution down to the store and down to even the individual customer. What that means is individual stores can set pricing, and it will populate directly to Toppers’ e-commerce site for the customers in their area, so it’s extremely powerful.”
Gittrich also mentions how the brand was able to increase efficiency across the board, which led to higher customer satisfaction and more revenue during the pandemic.
